Overmountain Chapter Flyfishing Class

(Some chapters might like to attend as observers, with an eye to doing a similar project.)

On Saturday, May 31st, the Overmountain Chapter will be conducting a one day Fly Fishing class. There is no charge. The class will consist of a brief history, equipment (including knot tying), fish identification, entomology, overview/demonstration of fly tying, casting, and afternoon fishing trip (each attendee is responsible for their transportation).

Who is eligible to attend: Ages 8 -18 Where: Elizabethton High School Time: Begin at 9:00 a.m. and end around 3:30 p.m. Lunch and refreshments will be provided at no charge.

Attendees who are 13 years of age and older will need a fishing license. Attendees who cannot drive must be accompanied by an adult. A limited number of rods and reels will be available, however, attendees may want to bring their own equipment (rod/reels/waders).

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED since we must limit the participation to the first 20 who register. If an adult would like to reserve lunch for themselves, please let us know. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity for an introduction to fly fishing!
